In a lake, where a man...something something

Well sir, I'll be gone for the next week. Going on a bit of a canoe trip around the Temagami region up there somewhere. I clearly won't be able to post anything here or at the Prog Rock Blog until my grand return a week from now. I hope you all have an exciting last week of summer and I'll see you again soon. Bye bye.

My Macbook is on it's way.

I got it for a decent price on the apple student store. Now I just need to get a cheap copy of Windows to run on it. Anybody know where I can get one cheap?

Yessir.

Living proof that 'the creator' hates monkeys. or something...

edit: By the way, Bananas aren't really the easiest thing for humans to digest are they?

Killer Racoons Strike Urban Areas

A fierce group of racoons has killed 10 cats, attacked a small dog and bitten at least one pet owner who had to get rabies shots, residents of Olympia, Wash. say. Some have taken to carrying pepper spray to ward off the masked marauders and the woman who was bitten now carries an iron pipe when she goes outside at night. "It's a new breed," said Tamara Keeton, who with Kari Hall started a racoon watch after an emotional neighborhood meeting drew 40 people. "They're urban racoons, and they're not afraid."

A Terrifying Message from Al Gore

Pink Floyd's The Dark Side Of The Moon Produces Missing Apollo 11 Footage

Peter Clifton was sitting watching television when he saw NASA was searching for original Apollo 11 footage. He had forgotten that in 1979 he ordered footage from The Smithsonian for use in The Dark Side of The Moon demo film. He had all but forgotten a pristine 16-millimetre film of the moon landing was part of his vast personal film catalogue.

the inconsistent mountain song

It's not really fair putting this silly song as Donovan's answer to the earlier Dylan post, but one cannot deny that it's indeed a catchy song indeed indeed.

Went to the park with friends that night and played guitar under a star filled sky.

Bob Dylan - Love Minus Zero/No Limit

This is from that "No Direction Home" film. You can see Donovan watching in envy as Dylan blows him away. Not that I don't love Donovan, but him standing in the shadow of the man he's most often compared to really seems to belittle him. I prefer Donovan's 60s psychedelic side over his Dylan-esque folk side anyway.

Me? Using a Mac? The arctic is on fire!

It's a mac! What am I thinking? Why am I doing this? At least the black one isn't as ugly as the white one. I imagine using bootcamp and booting into windows most of the time. Am I out of my mind? Am I finally tired of putting up with Microsoft's crap? I'll give it a full review once I get it and have time to get used to it's strange appleness.

Homer: “Not a bear in sight. The Bear Patrol must be working like a charm.”
Lisa: “That’s specious reasoning, Dad.”
Homer: “Thank you, dear.”
Lisa: “By your logic I could claim that this rock keeps tigers away.”
Homer: “Oh, how does it work?”
Lisa: “It doesn't work.”
Homer: “Uh-huh.”
Lisa: “It’s just a stupid rock.”
Homer: “Uh-huh.”
Lisa: “But I don’t see any tigers around, do you?”
Homer: “Lisa, I want to buy your rock.”
